Welcoming a New Elder: Greg Magdsick
Everyone here at Trinity is so excited to welcome our new Elder, Greg Magdsick. We’re thankful for his willingness to serve the church and looking forward to the many ways Trinity will be blessed by him and his family.
Here’s a little bit more about Greg’s story and plans for his work as an Elder:
Greg moved to Seattle in 2010 from Minnesota and has been involved with the church ever since. Just days after arriving to Seattle, God convicted him through an Elder of the church that he had stopped pursuing his now wife, Melissa. This conviction allowed Greg to repent, and realize he both needed and wanted to make a commitment to Melissa. They were engaged a month later and married in 2011. He has served the church by leading a community group and volunteering in the kids’ ministry. He and his wife have 3 kids: Grace (7); Caleb (6); and Jonathan (3.5), with one more son on the way, due in September! If you want to see him in his element, look for him playing with his family, preferably outdoors.
Greg expects to serve the church in several ways. One priority will be to help care for and disciple leaders, both within the church and abroad. He is planning to continue serving in the kids’ ministry as well. Furthermore, Greg wants to help our church continue to believe and emphasize that everything we do is a response to what has been done for us and out of our love for Jesus.
Finally, Greg wants to help our church hear more about what God is doing in and around us, including our international partnership with Majvieta church Riga, Latvia. In all of this, he wants to be a part of guiding all of our church, not just the staff, into actively engaging in the work and mission of the body of Christ.
